General Help & FAQ
This list of frequently asked questions should provide basic information about how to use all of the features at Engio.com.

Q. What is this site?
A. Engio.com is kinda like a search engine for cool and interesting online videos.

Q. It's a search engine? Why not just Google it?
A. If you're just looking for some cool films, a Google search isn't going to do much. So we compiled a database of links to cool and interesting movies that are available online. And unlike regular search engines, a real person checks out each movie first to make sure it's cool and interesting.

Q. So, how do I find a movie?
A. Engio.com makes it really simple. When you visit the site, it shows you five randomly selected posters for movies. If a poster catches your eye, you click on it. If you want to see five more posters, you click the right arrow button. It's simple.

Q. What if I know roughly what I'm looking for, like a title or genre?
A. Up in the left corner there's a search box available for just that. Simply type in a title, author, genre, or keyword and press "Enter" on your keyboard. The search results show up exactly the same way as before, but the closest matches to your search should show up first.

Q. Okay, I found a movie I want to watch. What do I do now?
A. Great. If you haven't already, click on the movie poster so you can see all the information about it. Then click on the "Download" button at the bottom of the information box. You'll see a list of links pop up for downloads and streams.

If you want to download the movie, right-click or control-click on a "File" link and choose "Save Link As..." (Mozilla/Netscape) or "Save Target As..." (Internet Explorer).

If you click on a "Stream" link, a new browser window will open with the streaming movie playing automatically.

If you just click on a "File" link, your browser might just open your media player automatically for you and start playing the movie as soon as it has transferred to your computer, or it might ask you if you want to save the movie file to your computer.

Q. Wait, there's more than one download or stream available. Which one should I choose?
A. If there are multiple downloads or streams listed, it means you have some sort of choice about the quality and/or format of the video file you're about to watch. High quality files or streams look better but they are often larger and require a fast connection to download, especially for a longer film. If different file formats are available (such as Windows Media, Quicktime, or MPEG), you can choose a file in the format you know will be able to play on your computer.

Q. I just found a movie that sounds pretty cool, but I want to come back to it later. What should I do?
A. No problem. Click on the movie poster to show the information box and then click on the "Bookmark" button at the bottom. On the left side of the screen, the bold "Bookmarks" link shows you how many movies you've bookmarked.

Q. I bookmarked a movie, and now I want to watch it. How do I find it again?
A. As long as you're using the same computer, you can come back at any time and click on the "Bookmarks" link to see the movies you've bookmarked. You might have to click the right arrow button to scroll through your list if you've got more than five bookmarks.

Q. I'm looking at my bookmarks list or I've done a search, but now I'm done. How do I go back to browsing the entire database?
A. Just click on the "Return to Films" link on the left of the screen under the "Bookmarks" link to return to the entire database of films.

Q. I bookmarked a movie, watched it, and now I want to get rid of the bookmark. Suggestions?
A. If you're not already looking at your list of bookmarks, click the "Bookmark" list and find the movie. You might have click the right arrow button to find it if you've got more than five bookmarks. Once you find it, click on the poster to see the information box. Now there's a "Remove" button where it used to say "Bookmark." Click it, and it's gone.

Q. Besides the poster for the movie, how can I tell whether or not it's worth watching?
A. Once you've found the movie, click on the poster to see the information box. By default, the first thing you'll see is a description of the film, usually one offered by filmmaker. In the upper right corner of the information box, you can see that the editor's rating of the film is represented by gold stars. Some movies have trailers or short previews that you can stream instantly just by clicking the "Preview" button at the bottom of the information box.

If you're still not decided, in the upper right corner of the information box there are links to viewer reviews of the film and the film's homepage. Clicking either the "Reviews" link or the "Website" link will open a new browser window containing the web page.

Q. I just watched a movie on your site and I'd like to share my opinion about it. Is that possible?
A. Sure. Just find the movie again, click on the poster, and then click the "Reviews" link in the upper right corner of the information box. A new browser window will open bringing you the film's reviews page, which might be a blog or a forum. Scroll through and find a place to add your comment.

Q. I just watched a movie that I really liked. How can I find more films that are similar to it?
A. If it's not open already, find the movie and click the poster to see the information box. At the top of the box, you'll see the film's title, director, and genre. Clicking on any one of these automatically performs a search for that specific entry. So, you can click the director's name to see more movies by that particular director. Or, you can click the genre to see more movies in that genre. Clicking the title will give you any other film that shares similar words in its title or keywords, which may or may not be useful.

Q. Where can I find more information about submitting my own film to Engio.com?
A. Please continue on to our Producer FAQ for help and assistance regarding our submission process.

Q. Your site gives me an error message when I load the page. What's wrong?
A. Engio.com is designed to work with recent versions of Mozilla Firefox, Safari 1.2+, and Internet Explorer 6+. If you experience a problem while using one of these browsers, you may need to update your software.
