You need to sign up for Vidista if you want to store videos in your Library, create channels, keep track of your Favorites, watch personal channels, chat, and send messages.

There is no cost to sign up for Vidista. It is absolutely free.

To sign up for Vidista, click on the "Sign Up" link in the top right corner. A sign up form will drop down, and you will be asked to provide an e-mail address, password, and nickname. Fill in these fields and click the "Sign Up" button at the bottom of the form. As soon as you complete the sign up process, you will be automatically logged in.

Your e-mail address is used as a unique identifier for your account, and you will need it to log in. You may only sign up for one Vidista account per e-mail address. Vidista will not share your e-mail address with any third party, and you will only be contacted at this address when you have forgotten your password or there is an important notice regarding your account or the website. Your e-mail address is never visible to any other user of the site, though users can search for you by e-mail address in order to add you as a Friend.

You should choose a password for your account that is not easy to guess. Your nickname is your public identifier on Vidista. For instance, when you create a channel, you will be identified by your nickname as the creator. Your nickname is also used when other users add you as a Friend or a Favorite user, or when you send messages or chat on a channel. However, your nickname does not have to be unique, so there can be 10 different users all using the nickname "Alex."

As soon as you have successfully signed up, you will be automatically logged in, and you can start using the site.

To log in to Vidista, click on the "Log in" link in the top right corner. The log in form will drop down, and you will be asked to enter your e-mail address and password. Once you have entered your information, click the "Log In" button at the bottom of the form.

As soon as you have successfully logged in, the form will disappear, and you will see "Welcome <Your Nickname>" in the top right corner.

If you are having trouble logging in, check to see if any error messages (in red) have appeared that suggest what might be going wrong. You will be informed if you enter an incorrect e-mail address or password.

If you do not receive an error message and the log in form disappears after clicking the "Log In" button, but you are still not logged in, your browser may not be set up to accept Session cookies. Check out Google's instructions for accepting cookies from Vidista.

Cookies are pieces of information that websites store on your computer for any variety of reasons. Vidista uses only one cookie to store your user id number while you are logged in, and deletes it again when you log out. This allows you to stay automatically logged in while you add new videos to your library, create and edit channels, send messages and chat, and watch your favorite channels.

Once you have created an account with Vidista, you can access it from any computer. Just log in, and remember to log out when you have finished. This is a great way to access your favorite videos anywhere, especially if you want to share them with other people in person.

To log out, click the "Log out" link in the top right corner. If you do not see the "Log out" link, you are probably already logged out.

To change your password, make sure you are logged in and then click the "Account" link in the top right corner. The "Edit Account Info" form will drop down, giving you the option to change your e-mail address, password, or nickname. To change your password, enter your new password twice and click the "Save changes" button.
