Vidista provides its users with the ability and choice to place advertisements in their channels between videos.
Vidista never shows advertisements where users have not already decided to place them. If you choose not to place advertisements in your channels, no ads will ever appear in them.
When an advertisement does appear on Vidista, it is because an individual user has chosen to place that ad there, and that user will earn 80-90% of the revenue generated by that ad.
Vidista provides its users with the ability and choice to place advertisements in their channels between videos. In order to do so, you must have an account with one of Vidista's supported advertising networks. You can then create Ad Spaces where your advertisements will be shown.
Most of the time, Vidista will show the ad that you have submitted in that Ad Space, and you earn revenue directly from the advertising network to which you are subscribed. 10-20% of the time, Vidista will show its own advertisement in your Ad Space, which generates revenue for Vidista.
Vidista will not pay you directly to put ads in your channels. Instead, Vidista provides you the opportunity to place advertisements sold by supported ad networks in your channels, and any financial transactions that take place will be exclusively between you and the ad network to which you have subscribed.
Ad Spaces are placeholders for advertisements. You can create an Ad Space simply by copying and pasting in the HTML ad code provided by your ad network. From that point on, your Ad Space acts like any other video in Vidista. You can drag it into your channels, move it around, and play it.
To create an Ad Space, click on the "Ad Spaces" tab at the top of the right panel. If you have already created an Ad Space before, it will appear in your Ad Space list. Below the list, there is a form with fields labeled "Ad Space Code" and "Ad Space Type."
You will need to copy the HTML ad code provided to you by your ad network and paste it into the "Ad Space Code" field. You must not alter the code or you risk violating your ad network's policies. Next, select your ad network from the drop down list labeled "Ad Space Type" and click the "Create Ad Space" button. A new entry will now appear in your Ad Space list.
Once you have created one or more Ad Spaces, you can add them to a channel you have created by simply dragging and dropping them into your channel playlist, the same way you would add any other video from your Library.
You can reuse the same Ad Space as many times as you choose. After you have dragged an Ad Space into a channel, you will no longer be able to select it in your Ad Spaces list. Just click the "Refresh Ads" button below the list, and all of your Ad Spaces will become available again.
If you have placed an Ad Space in a channel playlist but now wish to remove it, select the Ad Space by single-clicking on it, then click the "Delete from Playlist" option in the bottom panel to the right of the playlist.
If you would like to remove an Ad Space from your list of Ad Spaces, select the Ad Space by single-clicking on it, then click on the "Delete" button below the list.
Important note: Deleting an Ad Space from your list of Ad Spaces will not remove it from your channels. You will need to manually go through your channels and remove it as necessary if you want to delete it from the system completely.
In order to use Ad Spaces, you must be registered with a supported ad network, which means you must abide by any and all policies outlined by your network.
Here are some additional guidelines:
Vidista does not share revenue from advertisements in the traditional sense of splitting the actual monetary revenue after it has been earned. Instead, Vidista splits the amount of time your advertisements are shown in your Ad Spaces.
80-90% of the time a viewer sees your Ad Space, the advertisement that appears will be your own, and you will earn any and all revenue generated. The other 10-20% of the time a viewer plays your Ad Space, the advertisement that appears will be provided by Vidista, and Vidista will earn the revenue. In most cases you will not even notice the difference between the two ads.
This system for splitting ad time instead of revenue means that all of your financial transactions will go directly through your ad network, not Vidista. It also means that you can use the same ad network account for ads you post on other websites, such as your blog, as you can on Vidista.
Because Vidista replaces your ads with its own 10-20% of the time, the ads that show up in your Ad Space may not match the format you chose from your ad network.
The process of matching advertisements to relevant content is the job of your ad network. Vidista provides as much textual information about your channel as possible to help your ad network find appropriate advertisements, but Vidista has no control over which ads actually show up.
